In this episode, Donna and Bobby are subtly revealed to be Democrats. When Bobby says he might have voted for Senator Dowling, Donna tells him "wrong party." In an earlier episode, we subtly learned Senator Dowling was a Republican because he brought some items from his campaign (which included an elephant) to Donna's hospital room.
